Tigger is an exuberant, one-of-a-kind creature with the famously springy tail. He acts on every impulse, and his boisterous manner often leads him to leap before he looks.
Tigger Travels - Family Adventure Journal
Located in Destin, Florida ------
Small town with a cosmopolitan selection of shops, restaurants and things to do!
This summer Tigger and his entourage made a road trip through Colorado. One of his stops was at the Historic Mountain Town of Breckenridge. While strolling down main street we got to experience a small town artist community. It is charming and the shop owners treat you like you are a local.
We loved window shopping in all the little boutiques and trying out the garden chair made out of snow skis. We even found a great olive oil shop called Olive Fusion. Tigger loves to cook so we had to check it out. Upon entering we were greeted by friendly staff that gave us a quick tour and showed us how to sample the oils to find just the right combinations. They were full of great ideas for marinades and recipes and we could not resist trying something new.
When we got home we tried out the combination of Black Cherry Balsamic and Roasted Sunflower Sesame Oil to marinate our chicken diner. It turned our plain grilled chicken into something amazing. I knew we should have purchased more!
After shopping we saw a sign in the window of a restaurant called FlipSide. The sign said today’s ice cream special is Birthday Cake Shake. That was all it took to realize we needed a snack. Flipside is a Gourmet Burger, Shake and Craft beer restaurant. We ended up ordering the Birthday Cake Shake for Tigger and David had an "adult" Strawberry Shake with Strawberries/ Shortbread cookies / Vanilla ice cream and Godiva White Chocolate Liquor.
The Crispy Onion rings are made with a buttermilk batter, dusted with a chili powder and served with a tangy remoulade. The rings were thick cut, flavorful and there were plenty of them. According to the Flipside menu their specialty is their burgers. We had already eaten lunch so we didn't try them but the couple in the booth next to us did and I must admit they looked and smelled delicious. They serve only Ohio raised, grass fed beef with fresh locally sorced fixings. We are looking forward to our next visit.
After our snack we continued to walk main street and just enjoyed our afternoon. Next time we will be spending more than an afternoon at Breckenridge and will check out some of the historical tours and take the Gondola up the mountain. Can't wait to go back in winter! Christmas looks AMAZING!
